Faces of the Konstituante

This website provides biographical data, both individual and collective, of the members of the Konstituante (or Constitutional Assembly), the largest national legislative body in Indonesia in the 1950s. The members elected and appointed to serve in this body writing a new constitution for Indonesia, over 600 of them, can be seen as a sample of Indonesia’s political elite in its earliest years of independence.
