We are grateful to the British Academy for the BA/Leverhulme Small Grants programme, which provided funding for the digitization of this data, administered through the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. We are also grateful to the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Science, University of Indonesia, which acted as a local counterpart in the research and held the launching seminar for the database in April 2017.
The data on this website was collected from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), the Konstituante collection (RA14). File number 10 in that collection contains three binders with the Curriculum Vitae of each member of the Konstituante, hand-written (probably by a staffperson in Bandung) seemingly based on information provided directly by the members themselves.
The CVs in this file were scanned by the team of researchers and research assistants in the early months of 2017. From those digital images, the data was then typed into a custom-made digital database, and checked over by the lead researchers.
For some individuals, additional information is known (e.g., Mr Wilopo, a former Prime Minister of Indonesia, provided no information on his previous work or organizational background, although his personal history is easy to find). None of that information has been input here in the first stage; the data appears in this database as it appears on the pages from the archive.
